Spring Hike...better than homework!
These pictures are from a few weeks ago, when my friend Jim took me out to Eagle Bluff to look at some solar panels he set up. We then hiked down to an old abandoned mill from 1920 right along the Root River...I love old abandoned buildings! Spring is definitely here- the grass is turning green and leaves are starting to bud out! With the more recent arrival of rain, which was MUCH needed, things are especially becoming more colorful, and I am enjoying my first real spring in 6 years! Coming from an Alaskan Spring, where the ocean was usually still frozen in May, and many of the trails are too mushy to travel on, to full out summer like conditions here at the end of May, I have really been missing that "in-between" phase! It has been a lot of fun- though I am putting off too much exploring until I get my homework done. Today was my last day of spring break and I used it to work on homework for the last 9 hours...it did help that it has been raining all day. As of next week, I will be done with 6 more credits, which I need to move up on the payscale, and then I will begin spending much more time outside!! Though I don't delude myself too much- I know I will still have a of work to do, figuring out building on my land, which I hope to start in 2 months. Still, my new bike my brother helped me get should be back and completely functional by then, and I am also hoping to break my kayak free from 4 months in the storage shed, and work some more on my yard out on my land. Grandma Bublitz gave me some peonies, flocks, and daffodils yesterday, so I went out and started my flower garden before coming come from Easter with the family!
